FEAST DAYS OR HOLY DAYS
OF THE JEWISH NATION

Three of these Holy Days required that all males 20 years old or over to go to Jerusalem to celebrate the event.
Pious females also went.

1. FIRST: Passover: 14th. day of first month, Nisan of Sacred year, seventh month of civil year. Answers to our March- April; Calendar changed; Ex. 12:2 A new beginning See Ex. 12:1-16, 23:15, 34:18-25, Lev. 23:4-14, Num. 28:16-25, Deut. 16:1-8, Josh. 4:19-23, 2nd Chr. 30:2-25.
Killing of Paschal Lamb, placing blood on the door posts,
Purpose: God will pass through the land, this night [midnight] and the
first born of male children and cattle will die. Even Pharaohs household.
Where I see the blood I will pass over you. Ex. 12:13.
This feast was to be followed by seven days of unleavened bread.

Luke ch. 2: Date 4 to 1 B.C. Proof; Cyrenius was governor. Other times were @ 33 AD.

THIRD: Feast: Tabernacles or Booths;
The date was the 22nd day of Seventh month;
Tishri and answers to our September October.
This was an eight day feast commiserating the forty years of wondering in the wilderness.
Burnt offerings of animals required, See Ex. 23:16. Lev.23:34-35, Deut. 16:13-16, Ez.3:4. Zech. 14:16-19; See Burnt offerings Lev.16:.

DEDICATION, FEAST OF
John 10:22. In "winter," about our December (1 Macc. 4:52-59; 2 Macc. 10:5). Commemorating the purging of the temple and rebuilding of the altar after Judas Maccabaeus had driven out the Syrians, 164 B.C. It began on the 25 th of Chisleu (December), the anniversary of Antiochus Epiphanes' pollution of the temple 167 B.C. Lasted eight days. Celebrated like the feast of tabernacles with much joy and singing, and with carrying of branches. The Hallel was sung in the temple daily. The feast was called "lights," and there was much illumination of houses
